Hong Kong Introduces
Company Re-domiciliation Regime
A new company re-domiciliation regime under the Companies Ordinance (Cap. 622) came into effect on 23 May 2025. It allows eligible non-Hong Kong corporations to move their place of incorporation to Hong Kong without restructuring or spinning off their business.
Re-domiciled companies can retain their original shareholding, operations, and management. With a common law system, independent judiciary, and low tax rates, Hong Kong offers a favorable environment for businesses considering cross-border restructuring.
